A very nice wee heavy, with heavily aromatic aromas and flavor. Lots of malt here, and a very nice herbal note to cut the sweetness. Roasty, somewhat sweet, and complex. It loses a little bit as it sits in the glass, but right out of the gate this is powerfully flavorful stuff.

The ole beer board on the wall currently lists this second batch of Colin's Wee Heavy Scotch Ale as being 7.7% ABV.
Appearance: Dark brown body with a slim, short, essentially white head.
Smell: Fresh plum, maybe even black cherries neatly tucked into notes of brown sugar, smoked sea salt caramels, and toasted bread crusts.
Taste: Deep, richly toasty malts topped with dark brown sugar and giving an incredibly faint roast. Invitingly sweet throughout. Deep plum fruitiness. Well-integrated smokiness. Very faint hop character, near nil bitterness, never putting up much competition for the sweet malts. Smooth, malty finish.
Mouthfeel: Medium-plus body. Medium-light carbonation.
Overall: A succulent malt-forward brew with flush of fruit and a subtle smoky edge to it.

Served in a tulip glass at the brewpub, this strong Scotch ale is black and opaque with a moderate tan head that had decent retention.
Aroma is sweet, with a clear alcohol presence, but not in an objectionable way. Floral and spicy, with a clear presence of roasted malts and a hint of spicy hops. Very lightly smokey.
O: a tad too sweet for my taste, but still good.
