There are 11 different grains and sugar in this beer, giving it the complexity and similarity to a barley wine grain bill, but it only clocks in at 3.6% ABV. Very faint nuances of dark fruit, caramel, toffee, chocolate and coffee, with just enough earthy English hops for balance; get the flavor and drink more than one.

Had Tip of the Cap English Mild at Wrecking Bar Brewpub, Atlanta, on draft into nonic pint.
Pours deep red-amber-brown, with clarity and 1-finger, very light-tan head, with good retention, leaving nice Belgian lace etched down the glass. Aromas of mild caramel and a hint of fruit off pour, which continue, with aroma of mild roasted malt. On tasting, begins smooth, mild caramel malt, supported by light carbonation, and then a little sharp stone fruit, before some chocolate malt and mild roasted malt join the caramel and carry into a balanced, roasty, slightly fruity finish.
A beautiful, near-perfect example of the style, served in a proper glass at the brewpub.

Appearance: Served up a dark amber, near brown body with a wispy, ivory-hued head.
Smell: Notes swirling around smelling of coffee (albeit mild coffee), unsweetened chocolate, toasted, and squashed fruits.
Taste: Reserved, mild coffee flavor with a taste of breadcrumbs. Very light caramel sweetness. Short-lived but welcome fruitiness, showing a hint of apple and sweet grapes. Low dried herb hop character and soft bitterness. Malty but still fairly dry finish.
Mouthfeel: Medium-light body. Medium-low carbonation.
Overall: A very tasty, flavorful mild ale.
