It’s good but not great, had high hopes this one has Karen flavor but too subdued for me. I want my marzens to be brown, chewy, breast and Carmella and this one comes up a bit short.

12 ounce can poured into a mug.
L: Clear copper pour, 2 finger off-white head, foam reduces to a collar in a few minutes, some short-lived rings of lace.
S: Dark bread dough while the head is up, weak aromas of spicy hops and rain water coming later.
T: Malty with some sweetness to open, dark bread, black tea and some caramel, just enough herbal and orange hop flavor to quickly clean up the sweetness.
F: Medium bodied, soft and somewhat creamy, moderate carbonation, mild finishing bite.
O: Only one can but it’s drinking like a German Märzen at the moment, nice, would drink again.

A very nice example of the style.
Very well balanced.
I'd definitely grab another one.
This was from the bargain bin too, so I'm sure it was much better fresh. I don't see a date on the can, but it's April now, and this was released for Octoberfest.

New brewer for me. Tall boy can poured into a Scooby Doo mug given to me in college by a long ago ex-girlfriend. Interesting color with hints of brown and orange but almost no head. Nose is caramel but pretty faint. Flavor is pretty malt based with only a hint of noble hops and yeast. Texture is low carbonation but also a bit lifeless. The aftertaste does bring a bit of bread note but overall this almost favors a brown ale as much as a marzen, and the hybrid is a little wobbly.

A thanks to the captain of the canquest, woodychandler, for this beer. Poured from a 16 oz. can. Has a bronze color with a 1/2 inch head. Smell is of bready malts. Taste is bready malts, light hops, a touch of green apples. Feels medium bodied in the mouth and overall is a pretty good beer.

16oz canned 9/21/18 (38 days ago) poured into a dimpled mug at fridge temp 5.1% ABV. The beer pours hefe-hazy in a light honey amber color. The beer is topped with khaki head that recedes to a film and pencil thin ring. The aroma is yeasty with faint hops. The taste faintly malty with a medium to high bitterness and possibly a little hop flavor. The mouthfeel is thin bodied and lowly carbonated, but sharp on the tongue. It is dry and has no adverse aftertaste. Overall, ok. I am befuddled with this one. It's like a session IPA given just enough malt to change colors. A likable enough beer, but not what I look for in an Oktoberfest.

Can dated 9/21/18 (one day old) into pint glass. Pours a clear honey-amber color with an eggshell-white head. Initial impression is sweet caramel malt, but it morphs into a very clean-tasting lager with almost no residual sweetness. Mouthfeel is clean and refreshing. Carbonation is medium. Finish is dry and clean. Very easy to drink.

Sampling a cellar temp 16 oz can poured into a snifter. The beer pours a clear chestnut hue with some blush or rose color highlights when I raise my glass to a light source. The carbonation is Very active with lots of large bubbles on the glass and several streams rising to the surface. I get a fluffy khaki colored head of 4 cm even with a gentle pour. The foam fades quickly to a sturdy edge layer and some wispy islands in the center of the beer.
The aroma is grainy and cereal malt notes with some sweet caramel and maybe a little maple syrup in the background. I dont get any hop presence on the nose, nor does any booze shine through here.
The first sip reveals an average body and fine tingly carbonation that rolls across my palate and tickles each swallow. The flavor is sweet like the nose advertised to me. I get caramel and definitely a maple syrup note. There is also some grainy husky flavor on the finish. I do get some mild spicy hops on the finish that linger a little on my palate. Otherwise the beer drinks very easy and is spot on for the style. Another nice beer from this small PA brewery!

Of late, I open my reefer & discover more CANs that I want to rate & review for The CANQuest (tm) and this is yet one more example. I have to admit to being impressed by the strides that this brewery has made since its inception & I look forward to more good things from them.
From the CAN: "Drink Fresh [-] Do Not Age"; "Best Kept Cold"; "Pour Into a Glass".
A loud Crack!, a gentle Glug & I was ready for Fall 2017! A gentle in-glass swirl raised a brief finger of foamy, tawny head that quickly reverted to wisps. Color was a magnificent Deep Amber/Light Copper to Copper (SRM = > 13, < 17) with NE-plus quality clarity. Nose was quite sweet, very malty with a hint of maple syrup and a touch of smoke. It was very evocative of Fall, especially when we used to be allowed to burn raked leaves. Mouthfeel was medium. The taste was not as sweet as the nose had led me to expect. Instead, it was more subdued, still malt-driven, but more bready than outright sweet. I could still taste the maple & light smokiness, though. Mmm. Finish was semi-sweet, which is about as sweet as I like any beer. This was quite tasty & called for a pretzel to help celebrate the season.

An excellent take on the marzen style.. nice dark color with a well balanced mouth feel... I know I could definitely put several of these back at a festival or crisp fall day. And im not talking about several beers I'm talking about several four packs
