The Intervals series is a platform that allows our brewers to experience and study the ingredients that we use in brewing. As we develop new flavors and experience those nuances we can share that with others. From single hop varieties to alternate grains we want you to learn with us! Experiment, learn, repeat!

I have some of the worst luck with South County B.C. CANs in that have a proven propensity to explode on me! The recent heat wave was not doing them any favors (among others) & so I beCAN a system of triage to get as many CANcerns into the reefer to chill, pooching or not.
From the CAN: "Experiment*Learn*Repeat"; "Brewing Research Series"; "Best Kept Cold"; "Drink Fresh Do Not Age"; "Exploring the Possibilities"; "Learn With Us".
The Crack! was a little problematic due to pooching of the lid, but the seam had held, so it just took some coaxing to burst the vent. I beCAN a slow, gentle Glug, but it was still foaming mightily as I backed off, then started again. I finally ended up with two-plus fingers of dense, foamy, rocky, tawny head with good retention that left behind nice lacing in its wake. Color was a deeply-hazy/slightly-cloudy Yellow-Gold (SRM = 4 - 5). Nose smelled like Centennial hops - loads of resinous pine, just dripping with sap! 8=O Yum! Mouthfeel was medium. The taste was this hophead's wet dream - dank, sticky, resinous, just dripping with pine sap from every pore, crevasse & cranny. Pine sap, you sap! If this was a S.M.A.S.H. (single malt & single hop) beer, I CANgratulate them on having the rare common sense to let the hops shine & the malt be a bit player. I am exceptionally glad that I caught this one before it exploded. Finish was dry, but more towards cool & minty with a lingering resinousness. Mmm.
