Poured into a wide mouth grip shaped goblet: color is solid black, head is light tan with fine bubbles and presents one finger thick, head dissipates quickly to thin top, spots on the glass, ring along glass sides.
Smell is roast, light maple, chocolate, toast, light caramel, light boozy sweetness.
Taste is chocolate, roast, maple, lactose sweetness, no real booze, earthy bitterness.
Mouthfeel is low/moderate carbonation, moderate/strong sweetness, low/moderate bitterness.
Overall a sweet strong stout with moderate maple, chocolate, lactose character; full bodied and on the bitter chocolate sweet side.

Pours a very dark brown with a little tan foam that quickly turns to lacing. Smell is intense, vanilla leading, with roast coffee and chocolate following. Flavor trades vanilla for maple, over top of a rich roasted malt base. Coffee and chocolate join the middle of the flavor. Aftertaste is maple and cocoa. Mouthfeel is very rich and smooth. Overall, this is a smell and flavor extravaganza, a truly delicious beer.

Poured from the can into a snifter glass.
Lush colored top, a creamy milkshake faint tan and almost orange/white soft color dominates with a height of easy three fingers. Classic dark nearly ink walnut brown/black body with an excellent mirror like presence.
Aroma is real nice. Creamy vanilla with excellent roasty character. Hits dark chocolate and wafer light crisp candy kit kat flavors with milky touches. Not a hint of heat coming off this at all. Very impressive.
Palate is just as rich. Cream cream CREAMY touches of vanilla and dark chocolate all over. Velvety rich texture with mellow coffee and chocolate wafer bursting all over. Billowing pillow like finish, touches marshmallow but without a lot of sugary sweetness. Maple wood like hints more so on the finish with honey like coating while drinking.
I love how the maple character here is just accented but not overbearing. It adds so much to the mouthfeel and flavor without going overboard. Great stout!

Pours a deep dark brown color with over a finger of tan head. The nose has notes of chocolate syrup and coffee. The flavor is sweet with particular notes of chocolate and maple syrup. The mouthfeel is sticky.

A little sweet for my taste, but this is really well put together. The dark chocolate and medium roast coffee up front are splendid. To me, the vanilla and maple syrup at the finish are heavier than I'd like. Enjoyable overall though.

cellar temp 16 oz can poured into my snifter. Canned on 11/27/2019. Beer is a gift from my brothers for CHristmas. Thanks!
the beer pours a deep dark chocolate color with fluffy beige head of 2 cm foaming up. The head fades via large pockmarking craters and leaves dense lattice on the glass after a swirl or sip of beer. There remains a sturdy edge layer and barely present surface bubbles after a few minutes.
No light is passing through my glass when I hold it to the light.
The aroma is bold on this one! Roasted malt, dark chocolate and ground coffee mix together but also allow some slight sweet maple character in the background. I dont get any hop presence here and the alcohol is also well hidden as this doesnt smell boozy at all.
The first sip reveals a medium bodied beer with slightly sticky and syrupy texture and mild spacious carbonation. The carbonation gets a little more active and tingly after a swish in my mouth.
Flavor is bolder than the nose and much more on the sweeter side of things than roasted notes. I get a big dose of maple and vanilla up front and this flavor coats my lips and palate after each sip. Roasted malt and some light coffee comes through midway and lingers a bit, but the maple comes back on the finish and sticks around after each swallow.
The hops are again absent here and the ABV is well hidden, but this is still a sipper based on the texture.
Definitely on the sweeter side with maple dominant but still a fairly complex and robust imperial stout. Glad I have another can in the cellar, although I probably wont age that one as the only thing I see happening is a fading of the maple character. So if you have em, drink em fresh is my advice! Enjoy!

Fingers worth of lush medium brown froth... Decent retention... Inky black color... Huge inviting nose... Fudge... French presses coffee... Roasted malts... The palate closely follows the nose... Mouthfeel is on the fuller side of medium bodied... Rich, lush and creamy... Outstanding overall with loads of depth and complexity...

Dark color with a thick chocolate colored head that fades down pretty quickly. Vanilla with an overpowering maple type scent, a soda element in there too. I get that maple sweetness on the start and some coffee with a slight metallic bitter ending. After a bit more it becomes bitter chocolate with the metallic flavor fading. Thinner than I’d expect on the feel of this brew. Pretty decent.

Aroma of cocoa, coffee, vanilla; maple syrup slickness and lingering molasses, roasted malts, chocolate, coffee, pours dark brown and clean, delicate off-white head

Can dated 2-22-19 into pint glass. Pours a nice dark brown (black, in the glass) with a dark tan head. Initial impression is vanilla, coffee, maybe some molasses. Mouthfeel is kind of thin for an Imperial Stout. Alcohol is very well hidden. Finish morphs to a slight bitterness on the back of the tongue. Good but not spectacular.
