A rich and decadent Imperial stout aged in bourbon barrels and then conditioned on Sumatra Mandheling Coffee and vanilla. Intense notes of roasted dark malts, chocolate, toffee, biscuit, raisin, toasted marshmallow, caramel, deep roasted coffee and vanilla.

I was very surprised to see this on the shelf, I didn't know they did anything like this. I have so much damn beer on hand I almost didn't buy it. Glad I did. The base stout seems to be dry, kinda old school with a lot of roast and bitterness. This works well with the strong coffee addition, very dark roast but not quite charred. The bourbon notes are well incorporated and the vanilla is very subdued. The carbonation is light and the body is silk. Overall I am very pleasantly surprised by this.

Bottle from the breery into pint glass Pours a very smooth dark brown with ruby highlights. Light tan head. Minimal lacing. Initial impression is milk chocolate, sweetened coffee, vanilla, and roasted malts. Mouthfeel is smooth and silky, with more than enough heft for an Imperial Stout. Finish fades to lingering sweet chocolate. Overall, I think this is probably South County's finest effort to date.
