On tap at Roc Brewing in Rochester, NY.
Pours a golden, almost urine-like yellow, with no head or lacing.
Smells like lemon, hay, vinegar, and lactic acid.
The taste is similar. This is complex, with some interesting twists and turns that ultimately get a little fatiguing. This is quite sour, with lemon and hay flavors up front, but the more you drink, the stronger lactic acid flavors open up, along with the vinegar, and honestly, a fairly salty flavor. This almost tastes gose-like. With the strong vinegar flavors, this almost reminds me of Lay's Salt and Vinegar potato chips. Very briney, vinegary, and salty, with only the slightest hint of citrus, in the form of lemon. The lemon comes out more as it opens up, but so does the salt.
Light bodied, tart, biting mouthfeel. Low carbonation.
One of the best sours made in this area, but granted, there's not a lot of competition. This was ok, but the Salt and Vinegar potato chip flavor got a bit old.
