On cask at The Old Toad for their cask festival.
This is a chocolate stout with oak chips soaked in Grand Marnier in the cask.
Pours a dark brown, with some red tinges, and no head or lacing.
Smells like chocolate, roasted malt, oak, and the slightest orangey boozey twinge.
I wish the Grand Marnier aspect of this was stronger, but this is still a pretty tasty concoction. Tons of oak and wood bitterness here, along with some roasted malt flavor, a good amount of rich bitter dark chocolate, and only the slightest orange sweetness.
Medium bodied, but slightly thin for a stout, wish it was a little more beefy. Very drinkable. Smooth mouthfeel.
An interesting little experiment from Roc Brewing, one of the better casks at this festival.
