This brewery is located in a multiple-occupancy light-industrial style building where they occupy 3-4 'bays'. A parking lot has adequate parking, especially after hours when the other businesses are closed. A tented area with seating occupied a few parking spots at the entrance to the brewery. There are partition walls with finished surfaces to take away some of the industrial feel to the space, but it's still a vibe that I don't really like. (One bay had some arcade games.) Service is at the bar, and was very good on a busy St. Patrick's Day.
We ordered beer and food that was Irish-inspired for this holiday. The food was likely mass produced for the celebration and was just okay. The beers that we chose, the Irish stout and the Irish Red Ale were brewed very well to style, so I'm making a generalized observation that the other beers from this brewery would also be good. Hopefully their regular food menu is more custom prepared and better, but this is an industrial setting so it's hard to predict. The large Bavarian pretzel was very good.
I saw a few non-Lost Rhino bottles/cans of beer in the cooler (guest beers?) and a few bottles of wine, so there may be other options to drink. There are a number of cans to go. The brewery is a worthy visit for the beer; however, the food may be nothing like what your mom makes.

I was in town for work and was looking for a nice watering hole. When I stumbled across this place I was in love. The beer selection was awesome and the staff was amazing. Not being from the area, the team explained the background on the place and the beers. I was in town for a week and went back a couple times. Defiantly will go back given the chance to travel again for work.

Beer selection is pretty good for a microbrewery in that they have more than a handful of taps so you'll find something you like. A little crowded on Friday but not terrible and laid back vibe and I had a good time although I can't say any of the beers I had were exceptional.

Got to visit this brewery yesterday on the weekend of their 5th anniversary. The vibe was great but this could have been caused by the anniversary. Did a free brewery tour which was friendly and very informative to the less beer knowledgeable friends I had with me. Staff and service was awesome and they had a solid variety of beer got a flight along with a few pints. Prices were great especially on some of their specials.

Visited on a Sunday around lunch time with the Westover Beer Garden group (beer bus).
Lost Rhino is well worth the visit. Previous to the visit I had only drank their more popular beers (Rhino Chaser, etc.), which were not necessarily my favorites. But this visit allowed me to sample a greater variety of their beers that are not regularly available at local restaurants but which meet my expectations for quality, taste and in my favorite styles (e.g. the Golden Hog).
V - Good ambience, open, clean, bright. Very similar to other breweries I have visited. We had a special brewery tour with VP of Operations, Chris. Family friendly atmosphere as well. 4
Q - Of course all the beer was fresh and served in appropriate glassware that was clean. 4
S - Excellent service. Chris above and beyond by coming in on a Sunday to give us a tour. Unfortunately Chris could not answer a lot of the more technical brewing questions that our group had. 4.25
S - A very nice variety of beers available on tap as well as a few of their bottled beers that you could purchase and they would pour for you (in a carafe). But since it was the middle of summer there was a lack of heavier, darker, higher ABV beers, which is disappointing. 3.75
F - They have a kitchen serving some basic stuff. The barbecue sliders were pretty good.

Very tasty beer list but I think I had one of those "one bad day" type experiences. A party bus let out there and some people on it were a little too crazy, jumping around, and yelling. Also, there were a few people at the bar and a line at literally all times. Will give it a second shot soon.

Been here on multiple occasions:
This is a local brewery at heart, an early entry into the NoVa craft beer scene, but still a brewery. Grab a beer, grab some (limited selection) food, and grab a seat.
They usually have about a dozen beers on tap, tending towards more traditional versions, mid-to-lower ABV. Quality is probably a little above average, but styles and general excitement factor is not their forte.
I've never had an issue with the wait staff, although the place can get a little busy, and their queuing system is close to non-existent. They tend to rely on the patrons to police themselves (and I've never seen them not).
The food is limited, but bar food at a decent enough quality, considering, once again, that they are a brewery first.
Note that as I understand, they have opened a more-brewpub place completely separate from the brewery that I think is meant to cater more towards meal-based beer enjoyment and families.

Will never go back to this establishment again. Stopped by to try some beers. Lines were very long to, and not because of any kind of demand, but because of the poor "I'll get to you when I want" service. After waiting about 10 minutes in line, I asked for a sample and was glared at by an employee with black hair who simply went back to the conversation he was having with his friend (another employee). I waited a minute or two more and had enough....total waste of time to stop here.
