A clear, garnet color with a well-formed, off-white head. Retention is never a strong point for the style but the ring of foam is hanging forever and leaving lace behind.
Smell is mostly malt with some dark berry notes.
Taste is malt, berries, hint of hops. Balance is quite good.
Medium plus body with a very light effervescence. Drying throughout with a pithy aftertaste that is slightly bitter. Good stuff.
