Located near the river and downtown. Has its own adjoining parking lot. German beer hall decor. Low beige colored ceiling with dark wood panels. Walls with murals, maps, crests, and mounts, and a concrete floor. L-shaped bar and ordering station. Other seating at low tables, booths, community tables, and a lounge area with a couch and cushioned chair. Twelve taps with mostly German styles. Cooler has cans to go. No TVs. Performing stage for live music. Competent staff. Not much natural light but ceiling and hanging lights for the beer hall vibe.

Came here on a Sunday evening for flights with carry-in pizza.
Not a lot of people, but a very comfortable German beer hall setting.
The outdoors seating looked very attractive for a warmer evening, and the dog-friendliness was nice
The service was fast and cordial, and the beer was quite good!
The beer selection was excellent. I do wish they served food here. There are food trucks some evenings (not tonite), and it turns out we ordered the pizza from the wrong Little Caesar’s (not the one right across the street — sorry, we’re from out of state, passing through!) So we’ll have to pick up our soon-to-be-cold pizza on our way out of town.
But the beer and experience here was worth it.

Went on a Thursday at 5:15pm. 2 parties going on. Mixed age with a lean towards older (50s) but considering the time...
Had a flight and all were good to very good. They offered a variety of beers, cans for sale and brought in external lemonade etc. received snack without asking and staff was friendly.
Atmosphere is a Herman beer hall. Prices on par. No complaints and would recommend.

First time at Lazy Monk, but have been drinking their beers for years. The feel of this place is of German Bierhouse. A lot of German pictures. Friendly staff. Good selection. Nice outdoor patio - too bad the waether is rainy. They have a good selection of beers, and a few guest taps.
Highly recommended.

This place is a gem. Their wheelhouse is providing old world style beers in the manner in which such beers should be provided (i.e., fresh), and they nail it. Because they don't dedicate much time to the trendy beers (e.g., APAs, barrel-aging, sours, etc.), they probably won't see huge ratings from most of the beer geek crowd. Don't get me wrong, I am a HUGE fan of said trendy beers, but I also appreciate the traditional styles. Lazy Monk just opened their new location in 2016. It is a work in progress, but is already a solid beer hall. Rumor has it that they are adding an outdoor deck this summer which may overlook the Chippewa River. The owners are really friendly. The staff is passionate about beer. The vibe is cheerful. If you are ever in the Eau Claire area and have a craving for a fresh bo-pils, Vienna lager, munich dunkel, etc., you should check this place out.

Awesome microbrewery. The taproom is a very intimate and comfortable place. The bar is tended by the the owner and his wife along with few other workers. The family is very friendly and always willing to talk about their beers. The owner is a great guy who really takes pride in his work. The taproom has about 5 beers on tap to try and the brewery itself has a decent seasonal variety, but does not story much away from darker, malt beers.

This place is a little bit hard to find. Just look for the big 320 on the building. The taproom is located in a plain looking brick building with many tenants but when you walk in the room you are transported to an old world ale house. The decor is fantastic. It's very warm and inviting. The woman at the bar was one of the owners and she was very friendly and knowledgeable about the beers. They only brew lagers here so the selection is small with two flagship beers and two seasonals (although they just ran out of the Maibock when i got there). I got samples of the Pilsner, Dark lager, and Vienna lager. I love lagers and these were all delicious. A great place to hang.
