Pours a clear, brown color. 1/5 inch head of a off-white color. Poor retention and poor lacing. Smells of alcohol, slight liquor, roasted malt, strong sweet malt, and strong yeast. Fits the style of an English Barleywine. Mouth feel is smooth and clean, with a low carbonation level. Tastes of alcohol, liquor, caramel malt, sweet malt, roasted malt, yeast, and a hint of hops. Overall, poor appearance, decent aroma, good body, feel, and blend.

Pours a half finger of coppered-tan head over a murky dark copper liquid. Smells toffee ice cream, mild orange grassy. Toasted bread with a very thin spread of apricot preserves. Tastes oxidized cardboardy. Vegetal. Under the off-flavors is caramel and light bright fruits (pear and white grape). Clean alcohol sting can't quite keep the thick sweet from sticking. Dry powdery astringent finish with a bit of hop grassy. Thick in the mouth and modest carbonation. Unpleasant.
