poured from a 750mL bottle into a stemmed bulb glass. pours a clear gold lager-like color with minimal clear bubbly head that fades super quickly. smells of oaky white wine. taste is similar. pretty one dimensional. no sourness. no belgian spiciness. just dry oaky white wine notes. it’s not offensive or bad just very simple. hides the higher abv pretty well. feel is pretty watery and thin. very little carb to it, perhaps as a result of the extended bottle conditioning or perhaps this is how this beer was all along. overall, certainly not a bad beer but lacks depth that keeps it from being a great beer. a very interesting mingling of a belgian strong ale and an american wild ale.
