Collaboration with Shared
Lake Russ is a collab we cooked up with some old buds Shared. We decided to use the same malt bill, ours a touch smaller than theirs, and we thoroughly dry hopped with equal parts Mosaic and Idaho 7. This IPA reminds us of dank orange juice, getting your credit card compromised at the diner, and trips to the cage.

a wonderful collaboration ipa with shared, mosaic and idaho 7 hops, i think my favorite hoppy beer i had on our recent trip to saint louis, which is really saying something, the city is producing some good ones these days! this is hazy pale yellow in color, pretty dense and hazy looking, but the tone is bright, the head is pure white and tall, and the aroma seems to fill the room. it almost seems like cryo hops had to be used, its identifiable as mosaic, but its really intense, and seems to start the second it hits my lips, really early, candied coconut and pineapple, clementine, and white grape, really sexy. some dank weediness to it, preserved lemon, and lemongrass floral sweetness as well, the hops are just stunning in this, and while the combination is not uncommon anymore, the smells and tastes in this beer certainly are, like nothing else i have had, even from the same hops. there is a cool botanical layer in this too, like honeysuckle and elderflower and lemon balm or something, but its melon and green grape and pineapple that start and finish it. smooth to drink, seemingly wheaty, but not as weighty as it looks like it should be, almost creamy to drink, without any green bite to it, which is shocking for how obviously dry hopped this is. impressive boldness and refinement in the same glass. this is made by experts, and i loved it. stoked this was available when i was at perennial recently, amazing ipa!

poured from a 16oz can into a perennial willi becher glass. pours a hazy gold with minimal head. smells of tropical fruit and subtle pine. taste is similar leaning more towards the tropical fruit. feel is full and lower carb. a definite highlight of this pour. overall, this is good but i think i expected more. the smell and taste seem a little muted. still a very drinkable and enjoyable IPA.
