A lager with tropical hops and honey.
It is always exciting to brew a beer for a special occasion. Today we are unveiling a new lager, Neon Feelings, as we prepare to celebrate the marriage of one of the people that keeps Perennial running. We wouldn’t be where we are today without you, Syd. Congratulations from all of us!
Brewed with a pilsner base and lightened up with both corn and rice, Neon Feelings lands at 5% abv. The beer opens with a delicate bouquet of candied melon, yellow Froot Loops and lime zest from New Zealand-grown Riwaka and Motueka hops. A kiss of honey follows on the palate, provided by Beeing Local Honey. From the first impression to the crisp finish, every aspect of this beer is light and cheerful!

poured from a 16oz can into a willi becher pint glass. pours a straw gold with a slight chill haze and two fingers of soapy white head. fruity and dank tropical hops with a kiss of honey sweetness. these elements tend to cover up the typical lager yeast and cracker malts associated with the style. the honey sweetness is much more dominate on the taste, and a little off-putting to my tastebuds. medium-full mouthfeel. kind of dry on the finish. a pretty well done experimental lager and while i love the hop combination i’m not crazy about the honey. it’s not terrible but i always look for refreshing aspects of lagers and this is just a little too sweet to me to be refreshing.
