pour from 750 ml bottle
pours like used motor oil - inky black with not much head. aroma is like walking into an ice cream or bakery - mix of chocolate, vanilla, nuts. taste is rich but not cloying. slick mouthfeel, full bodied.

Pour heavy, no head. Nose , slight chocolate, definitely a red berry taste, with bourbon finish, not overpowering.

750ml waxed and capped bottle into a BBT snifter.
Pours a dense, pitch black. A heavy pour yields no head or lace. Thick, oily, chocolate legs. Nose is lactose, a hint of raspberry jam, chocolate truffle, and a touch of cocoa powder. Very aromatic. Pretty sure there's no fruit in this one but there's a distinct red fruit juice note. Beer opens sweet syrup, chocolate, vanilla, and marshmallow. Molasses and fudge in the middle with the hazelnut coming in right at the end. Sweet, sticky finish. The body never ceases to disappoint. Full with low carbonation. Chewy, viscous, and velvety on the palate with a long, lingering, smooth aftertaste.
Hazelnut is a bit muted here and I still swear there's some red fruit in here somewhere!

poured from a 750mL bottle into a snifter. pours black with a tiny mocha brown foam cap. big hazelnut on the nose and taste. chocolate and a hint of barrel in the background. medium-full mouthfeel. perhaps a little too hazelnut forward and although i do enjoy hazelnut in stouts very much, it could use just a little toning down. still, very enjoyable.
