Blue Ridge 2022 is an English-style barleywine aged in barrels that previously held Maman for 2 years. With rich notes of caramel, toffee, and raisin, this decadent, self-indulgent beer is meant to be enjoyed on cool, crispy nights with a few of your favorite people. The perfect beer for porch hangs and campfire stories back in a Blue Ridge holler.

Chocolate-covered caramel chews, dark fruits and raisins, and a vanilla-bourbon barrel nose on this one! Taste follows exactly with some chocolate notes from the Maman barrels. This is showing just a touch of age at the moment, but has a nice mouthfeel and is pretty balanced between the sweetness upfront and the barrel booziness on the backend. This is wonderful!

poured from a 750mL bottle into a snifter. pours a little darker brown than your typical barleywine. i do however recall b1 one being quite “stout-y.” dark fruit, bourbon, chocolate, figs all on the nose. taste follows but you get bigger hints of chocolate while still getting plenty of dark fruits. thick, full mouthfeel. really good BA barleywine.
