On tap at The Answer Brewpub in Richmond, VA.
This one pours a very dark black color, with a very small head, and not much lacing.
This smells like brownies, fudge, caramel, maple, vanilla, and oak.
I’m not surprised that something made for The Answer specifically is definitely sweeter than Maman usually is. There’s maple and caramel candy like flavors, marshmallow, vanilla, and lots of dark chocolate fudge. It’s still pretty delicious, but I definitely prefer the regular take on Maman.
This is medium bodied, creamy, and not all that boozy, with a sweet and velvety finish.
It was really cool to be able to try both this and the Mekong’s exclusive variants of this great barrel aged stout.
