Barrel-aged imperial stout brewed with coffee, maple syrup and vanilla beans. Aged for 17 months in Weller barrels, bringing out rich notes of oak, caramel and sweet maple resulting in a remarkably smooth stout.

750ml waxed bottle into a Finback teku.
Pours dense, rich. Huge, sticky, oily legs. No head with some spotty lace. Nose is chocolate, espresso, maple, and lactose. Coffee presence is up front but overwhelmingly sweet profile otherwise. Beer opens lactose, maple syrup, and chocolate. Fudge and chocolate pudding in the middle with hints of molasses. Oak, tobacco, and barrel presence in the back. Well integrated. Body is full with low carbonation. Slick and oily on the palate and goes down velvety. Almost too smooth. Soft, lingering finish.
The body is the best part of this beer. The nose promises something the flavor profile doesn't quite deliver and it's just a bit too sweet overall.

I received this beer earlier this year and thought I would review it. I am using a tulip glass and serving it at 54 degrees. The pour created a frothy, creamy, one-fingered, dark brown head with fair retention. The somewhat quick dissipation left no lacing on the glass. The color is dark brown, nearly black with reddish brown hues, charting at SRM 34, and mostly opaque. The appearance of the beer is average for this style.
Nosing the glass, I smell maple, vanilla, dark chocolate, espresso, toffee, whiskey, oak, light Maillard, dark roasted malts, and bready. Smelling the glass again, I detect earthiness, tobacco, raisins, molasses, caramel, malty sweetness, and roasted malts.
The flavors starts with maple, vanilla, espresso, dark chocolate, toffee, caramel, oak, whiskey, char, light smoke, and dark roasted malts. Sipping the beer again, I notice Maillard, dark roasted malts, malty sweetness, light toasted bread crust, raisins, molasses, figs, and light tobacco note.
The mouthfeel is creamy and chewy finishing smooth. The body is heavy with a low carbonation.
Maple, chocolate, and dark roasted malts weave their way into this big, malty brew. The barrel aging helps balance the beer. My only complaint is that it is a touch sweet for my liking. Overall, this is a delicious beer with lots of flavors.

Look - Pours a syrupy black color with an extremely light head.
Smell - A very nice Weller's bourbon scent with oak, maple, and light coffee.
Taste - Tastes of bourbon, oak, malt, maple, and coffee, I don't detect the vanilla it says it has.
Feel - A smooth creamy mouthfeel that's just a bit flat.
Overall - A nice stout! Perhaps a bit expensive due to the Weller's aging.

Well, it doesn’t not say ‘single serving’ anywhere on the 750ML bottle, so I’ll assume it is. It’s the weekend, after all, & I don’t have to get up until…December 2nd. I can sleep it off before then.
1998 Goth black with a touch of head that vanishes faster than a marriage ceremony. Nostrils are inundated with a booming blossom of sweet malts.
Otto – small name for a fierce beer. The booze is more intense even than the double digit ABV would suggest. As the nose suggests, there’s sticky, lip-smackingly sweet malts all over this dog. Amidst the liquified remains of nine Hallmark movies it’s hard to pick out the maple or vanilla beans, though the maple does peek out in a minor way. Big, thick, full. As evidenced by taking this skull-beater by myself, plenty drinkable, despite the crazed sweetness.
You’ll notice I never mentioned bourbon (or coffee for that matter), which gets this premium-priced bomber knocked a bit on score. I pay through the arse for bourbon, I want my damn bourbon. Still a borderline excellent brew.

Thick pour, heavy feel on the tongue, but taste is clean with easily discernible components . Extremely smooth and rich. Excellent balance of coffee, vanilla, caramel with a unifying background of Weller bourbon.Ends clean, no after taste, I just wanted more. Best Beer I’ve had this year( threshold of a dream is a strong 2nd) So happy to have two 750ml bottles in my cellar
