Poured at just warmer than fridge temp. Pours a nice dark brown with minimal head. The nose is full of dark toffee, bourbon, figs, brown sugar, and plums. Very nice.

The taste generally follows the nose. Fairly sweet. Bourbon, toffee, slight spice, raisins, figs, and prunes. Boozy but not overly so. Very nicely balanced.

Look - Pours a clear but very dark brown color, with a small head that quickly disappears.

Smell - A pleasant barleywine scent with notes of bourbon, figs, and chocolate.

Taste - Tastes of dark fruit, bourbon, and light chocolate.

Feel - Very easy drinking at 'only' 13.4%ABV. Could maybe use a little more ABV to enhance the flavor.

Overall - This is a very nice strong ale.

Brownish black pour with a tan head. Aromas of barrels with prominent molasses and dark fruit, especially raisin, getting barley ahead of the rye and wheat in the nose. Taste as deep, toasty and dark wet barrels, wonderful mix of the dark fruits and molasses with brown sugar, and a hint of chocolate and vanilla with the three grains: barley, wheat, rye, in that order. Feels dialed in with warmth that cools off through the sip, great barrel character, so smooth, yet sticky and decently heavy. Amazing as always with this series
