This is a top-fermenting beer brewed for the Aachen market and named after Lennet Kann, an Aachener original. However, Lennet is privately brewed in Köln and tastes like Kölsch, so I am classifying it as such. They hope to brew in Aachen eventually though.
33cl, best before the end of March 2012.
Bubbly yellow-gold with a tight head that laces quite well.
Aroma is fresh and moderately hoppy-- grassy, sulfuric German hops.
The flavor has nice light citrusy notes and a sturdy bitterness. Biscuity malts come through. Subtle, clean and pleasant. Perhaps a bit more substantial and bitter than most Kölsch. The mouthfeel is spritzy and has medium-high carbonation. Refreshing.
This is good stuff. Fresh and clean. Too bad it's not actually brewed in Aachen!
