A 500ml bottle with a BB of May 2015. Purchased a while back from Booths. The label calls it a pale ale; hopped with Cascade, Summit, Galena and Centennial.
A: Poured into a tulip pint glass. A clear amber hue with faint floating sediment and good carbonation. Forms a smallish head of frothy white foam that lasts for a moment or so before reducing to a patchy surface layer.
S: Aroma of light malt with hints of floral hops, mild fruitiness, subtle grain, ale yeast and faint stewed leaves. OK but unexciting.
T: Tastes of light, grainy malt with a floral hop character and a dry finish. Notes of mild grain, vague fruity hops, floral hints, ale yeast, earthiness, stewed leaves and husks. Well-attenuated, followed by a crisp, restrained bitterness upon swallowing.
M: Mouthfeel is smooth, tingly and dry, with pleasant carbonation and decent body. Somewhat astringent, accompanied by an aftertaste of subtle hop notes, leafy bitterness, mild grain and ale yeast.
O: Alright though not mind-blowing. Looks OKish - shame it's not bottle conditioned. The aroma and flavour are a relatively humdrum blend of mild hop notes and grainy malt. Decent body. Goes down easily enough but not particularly memorable. No need to seek it out.
