100% Bretta Saison was primary fermented in French oak barrels with Brettanomyces and aged for 11 months. This Farmhouse ale showcases bright citrus fruits, light barnyard funk, and a refreshing dry finish.

A: a hazy gold, minimal head, good retention.
S: good funky character, has an almost gueuze-esque bite, a touch of brine, apple, white grape and pear
T: much more malty than one would expect from the nose, lemon and pepper come through, less funky than it smells, a bit of an estery quality comes out as the beer sit (apple comes out some as well as pear), tart, but not overly sour, that malt body is really the first thing to announce itself
M: very dry but also silky
O: This was brewed by the newly opened "sour room" wing of the brewery but that being said this is both more a farmhouse ale that a saison or a sour beer, that being said this is an excellent offering, especially for a sour program that is still in its infancy and definitely worthy of a taste. this beer has a personality that is difficult to pin down. PS: it should go without saying, but just in case it doesn't, take it slow to get the full experience.
