A: Deep red, almost mahogany, hazy but not opaque, minimal head and lacing
S: immediate vienna and amber malts, along with a very subtle touch of cherry and almost a hint of cinnamon
T: immediate apple pie and cinnamon, very warming, the tartness here marries very well with the cinnamon note, it even somehow has that syrupy quality without being overly thick
M: a bit dry, but not bone dry
O: Admittedly I don't like red ales so this is definitely not my favorite from them, that being said, it's a very pleasant and inviting deviation in terms of seasonal beers for this time of year and I would definitely buy it again. It's really another hit for the Avondale Barrel Works/Sour Room and is definitely worth your time, if you don't live in Birmingham, you're pretty much not going to be able to get it without coming here, but if you live here you should seek it out
