600ml brown bottle (a rarity for imports from this part of the world, take my word for it), and just a wee bit too late to capitalize on all that global fuss earlier this month in Brazil.

This beer pours a crystal clear, pale golden yellow colour, with three fat fingers of puffy, loosely foamy, and bubbly eggshell white head, which leaves some decent low-lying grotto lace around the glass as it rashly abates.

It smells of semi-sweet corn fritters, bready pale malt, rice cakes, muddled drupe fruit esters, mild acetone, and faint earthy, leafy, and weedy hops. The taste is more mixed 'n matched malts - a little bready graininess here, some pithy rice there, and corn undercutting all - gritty, fleshy overripe apple and pear, a touch of gasohol, and bland leafy, grassy, and musky floral hops.

The carbonation is on a light, fluffy, and duly frothy bender, the body on the lee side of medium weight for the now laughably purported style, and beginner-level smooth, i.e. lots of work to do before anyone takes it seriously. It finishes rather sweet, the mutt-like malt, mangled fruit notes, and unnecessary alcohol character all anteing up, and yet bluffing at the same time.

Meh - more generation or more removed expats or some such outfit trying to emulate the ways of the distant old-world, and failing miserably. Whether it's to cater to the tastes of their supposed market, or a lack of care, attention, or, of course, capital commitment, it matters not a whit - this is no Pilsener, of any ilk, except that of macro, quasi-national brewers all around this great big world of ours.

Pure Malt second beer I met after Heineken, surprising me by honesty amid the sea of massification that in political times, is getting heavy for you not us care quality, including subtleties of planting agricultural benefit corn... Today begins to spring, with temperatures rising and, why not opt for the refreshing quality?

Grabbed a bottle of this beer as a lark...imported German style pilsener from Brazil for only $2 a bottle...what can go wrong with this purchase????!!!

Bottle poured into a teku glass

Translucent yellow , frothy white foam cap, settles to a pencil thin layer, good lacings

Aroma of malts, grains, sweetness like apple juice

Sweet, light body , malt and grains

It's a very good beer to drink in a hot day, to refresh.
It is good, but the taste is not complex. The beer is to watery and you can't smell or taste much of neither hops nor malt.
Overall, is good to refresh, but not that interesting. It is still above the market average, though.

I had this at the Fogo de Chao Brazilian Steakhouse in San Antonio Texas. I didn't check the volume but it came in a large odd size bottle. The brew pours a crystal clear, pale gold producing 2.5 fingers of billowy, foamy, somewhat lasting off-white head leaving only a little lace as it recedes. Aroma is bready malt, corn cereal, a delicate fruitiness, lemon, earth & grass. Taste is bready cereal grains, corn syrup, white fruit hints, honey with lemon & grassy hops. Mouth feel is light-medium bodied with weakly moderate carbonation, smooth with a light prickle, wet with dry hints late in the sip. Fairly tame & mundane for what it's intended to represent/imitate.

Pale golden color. Made a two finger head with medium retention.
Faint aroma of malt and pine and floral hops.
Similarly, predominant sweet malt flavor with hints of pine and floral hops that gives a refreshing sensation.
Aftertaste is dry and bitter with biscuit notes. Medium body and good carbonation, a bit effervescent.
Good cost benefit, beer for a hot day that is not tasteless. When I first taste it, I remember I had a very positive surprise.

Aroma is malts/pale malts, German style yeast and an astringent hint. The flavor is malts/pale malts, slightly husky, mild fruit and a mix of sweat and tart in the finish.
