32oz growler poured into a Ballast Point tasting room tulip ( I like this glass for IPA's because it is narrow tall tulip ). Tasting was several 8oz pours.
Black, with an off white, frothy, lasting head, very good lacing..
The nose was a blast of piney resin. Later I started to notice the orange.
The flavor was pine with roastiness and orange breaking through. All playing well together. A creamy feel with a nice moderately bitter finish that is lasting.
I'm glad to hear they will be naming this and brewing it again. I think it will be a nice addition to their already impressive line up of hop forward beers.
