Clear yellow with plenty of foam in the Crooked Line tulip. The aroma is sensational, a cucumber and papaya fragrance that is both subtle and distinctive. Clean, crisp, a hint of lime and pineapple. Everything in balance. It's almost a Pale Ale but the bitter aftertaste is in the IPA range.
Thoroughly delicious, elegant IPA. It's at the other end of the spectrum from the murky-dank slush I had from Abnormal earlier. Another reason to try everything El Segundo comes up with. I hope they'll pick the best ones out for regular rotation, like the Mosaic Pale Ale. From the 22 oz bottle purchased at Barons Market in San Diego. Same June date, fresh enough.

Poured from a 22-ounce bottle, dated 061517, a clear pale yellow under a one inch thick white head which fades to the rim and leaves spotty lace. Aroma is floral, citrus and tropical fruits. Flavor is pine, dank, resiny, with some mild grapefruit. Medium body and moderate carbonation. Dry, mildly hop-spice finish.
