Handsome dark auburn brown with plenty of foam in the Chimay chalice. Plentiful suds in the mouth. Mild citrusy aroma. Roasted malt with a burnt undertone. Fairly bitter and woody aftertaste. This seems like a darker dark than necessary, not to mention the grapefruit. The bitter hoppy edge is quite persistent and the slight malty sweetness fades fast. For a couple of sips this is refreshing and different, but it loses its charm. From the 16 oz can purchased at BottleCraft. Dated 11/14/22.

Purchased a 4 pack of pint cans, brewed just 6 days ago on Nov 14. Pours a very dark mahogany that lets in a glimmer of light, with a super 2" layer of billowy toffee foam that hangs around and laces very nicely.
Smells of fresh roasted coffee and dark malt. Taste follows with just the right bitterness to balance the malt. They used a nice blend of Chinook, Amarillo, Citra and Simcoe hops to create amazing flavor that lacks the bitter grapefruit taste that dominates the lighter IPAs. Feel is silky smooth and semi-dry. Overall I'm very impressed with this and for sure will keep it around often during these chilly months.
