Appearance: pours a rustic-orange, opaque to cloudy color. Appearance resembles an unfiltered heffeweizen. Inch of frothy white laced head.
Smell: smell is surprisingly bold, with lots of citrusy fruit: grapefruit, orange peel, lemony yest.
Taste: although considered a "wheat ipa," this beer screams full bodied ipa. The wheat is present in the sense that it adds a dry, grainy demension, while providing a light enough body for the Nelson and cascade hops to take center stage. Grapefruit/pineapple taste, followed by some pleasantly grassy finish
Mouthfeel: very drinkable! Though Quite carbonated, easy to put down a few pints in a given session.
Conclusion: overceded expectations! This is a very promising release from a new brewery; the potential of this brewery, based on this beer alone, can be quite exponential. Hands down, best "wheat ipa" out there.

Going the wheat direction with a West Coast IPA, this hop-forward IPA is a refreshing thirst quencher with a satisfying and balanced delivery. A definite bread-like smell mixes with that signature West Coast citrus hop bouquet seen in so many bold IPAs of its kind. The mouthfeel is full bodied for such a lightly colored beer and the head retention is excellent. This beer is very drinkable with a crisp and dry finish that quickly encourages another gulp. I really enjoyed this beer.

On tap at Beer Belly.

Pours a dark golden color. One finger of white head retention and lacing are both good.

Smells of stone fruits, some dank, tropical fruits too. Wonderfully hoppy nose all around.

Tastes of bready malt up front, some wheat spiciness, the finish is dank and resinous with tons of stone fruits.

Carbonation is fairly high and really smooth and creamy, medium bodied bitterness is pretty high, but there's enough of an aromatic hop element to keep things interesting.

Highly recommended. Hats off to El Segundo Brewimg Co. For making a kick ass IPA.
