This year's Inspiration features Mosaic and Simcoe that were hand-selected by Jason Perrault at Perrault Farms. This beer is a unique expression of what we can get from hand selected, extremely fresh hops.

We collaborated on the recipe with McIlhenney Brewing, which was founded by the family that created Alpine Brewing and has been a massive influence in the brewing community since the early 2000's. We leaned into their brewing roots by using some rye malt, which was always a staple in their beer, and combined process knowledge to create a very flavorful and impactful IPA.

Picked up a 4-pack of these from the brewery. What a treat. Wish I got to try it fresh off the line.

Pours with a shimmery golden body and a big foamy head that leaves lots of lacing. Can art is all about advertising the farm the hops come from. Feels very artesanal.

A very clean aroma of pine, juniper, spruce and cedar right up front. Very hoppy. Hints of yellow grapefruit, white peach, apricot and quince follow it up, with a peppery rye finish, giving impressions of fresh basil and tomatillo. Subtle hints of yeast esters.

On the palate, this just blows me away. What fresh hops. I've had hundreds of IPAs and this easily fits into the top 10 best I've ever had.

Very nice mouthfeel too. Rich and full, but crisp and light at the same time.

A work of art. Very worth seeking out, but I think you gotta get it straight from the brewery.

This is an excellent WCIPA that really nails the resinous and bitter finish. Coppery gold in appearance, it presents nice foam that leaves prodigious lacing rings as it goes down the glass. Flavors are fairly complex as the drinker gets the best from Mosaic with traditional berry notes coming forth along with a grassy herbal bite. Simcoe delivers piney goodness in its own right, then both comingle to produce a palate coating resin that lingers and bitters. Juicy qualities are also noticeable. Body is decent with nice carbonation delivering hop characteristics appropriately. Simply put, this is well made and has no weaknesses. Overall outstanding.

Pours a nearly clear golden color with just a smidge of hop haze in the body, which is underneath a fluffy white head that coats the glass with a blanket of lacing. Gorgeous WCIPA.

The nose centers on dank, earthy weedy notes and green onions, which I always associate with fresh Mosaic hops. There’s also some apricot and berry aromas, as well as a bit of pine. Wow.

That dank, earthy weedy flavor is very forward on the taste, as is that green onion flavor I enjoy so much. Balance is provided by the apricot and berry flavors, and there’s nice bitterness courtesy of the pine. Absolutely delicious.

The mouthfeel is full and crushingly dry, perfect for this world class wet hop WCIPA.

Poured from a 16oz can into a Waterford IPA glass. Pours a stunning slightly foggy golden orange with two fingers of firm white foam head. Leaves nice lacing as it’s consumed. Nose has vegetal green onion, dank weed, citrus and melon. Very inviting aromas. Tastes follows with a big emphasis on the earthy green onions, which I typically associate more with New Zealand hops but that aroma and flavor is here for sure. I love it. There is also some ripe melon and candied orange. Super smooth though with almost no bitterness to it. Or maybe it’s just the perfect amount of bitterness. Thick, full mouthfeel. Perfectly carbed. An incredible wet hop IPA.
