Very dark brown brew with abundant foam in the tall IPA glass. Smells of grain and scorched vegetables. Can't fault the sudsy and prickly mouthfeel. I don't know what they used to blacken this brew, but it's a peculiar flavor. It's a stew of hops and scorched grain with blackened asparagus. Even the high alcohol adds to the harshness. Still, it's at least as good as some of the stovepipe sweet DIPAs featured at your local gas station. But the bitter finish with the charcoal aftertaste is not what I like. From the 16 oz can purchased at O'Shea Brewing. Dated 12/03/25.
