El Segundo teamed up with their friends Chris and Weston over at Beer Zombies to brew an obnoxiously aromatic hazy IPA that is bursting with all the right flavors. We used a flowable hop product from Abstrax to bring Galaxy hop flavor, and leaned into a new hop, Dolcita, for some sweeter fruit qualities.
The aroma and flavors are complex, with prominent notes of tangerine, mango, peach rings, sherbet, geranium, rose water, and white pepper. The off-dry finish is complemented by moderate resinous bitterness.

a collaboration with beer zombies from vegas, which is where i enjoyed this on tap, but i think it was made at el segundo. nice joint effort here, clean and modern hazy with a great hop profile. refined as these go, pale and consistently hazy but still bright and sunny too, high headed, not murky or dense for the style, lots of carbonation, excited texture, drinkable and not filling, which already puts it ahead of a lot of these. aroma is neat, citrus forward, maybe citra driven, but i get ripe melon cubes, tangerine, real pineapple, and starburst candy, all flavors packed in the mouth together and gobbed into a chewy ball, if youve ever done that, this smells like that tastes, although not real sweet or anything, super fresh to me, a coconut note that could be sabro or strata, lightly herbal too, subtle peach, just lovely, varied, and not overdone, i am curious what hops are here, could be cashmere too, lots of that fruity brightness, but now i am just throwing spaghetti. the flavor is just as good, lemongrass and light tropical fruitiness without being cloying, sliced pineapple, honeydew, meyer lemon, and just a little fruity weed character too, but this is pretty light, not oily or lingering on the palate, not overly intense despite being interesting, a nice place for it to be, subtle kiwi giving late southern hemisphere hop vibes, light dry grain character, enough for this to be balanced and still light, not all starchy and weighty, which i love, and its effervescent in feel, lots of lift to it. peach and white wine, light white wheat, mellow grassiness to finish, just a touch of bitterness quickening it. wonderful beer, great springtime hop complexion, good attention to detail. more please!
