2020/2021 vintage
Pours a small fizzy head with low retention, a bit of lacing, slight hazy semi clear copper to ruby color
Nose starts with a bit of the base sour, Tilquin funk and souring acidity, then tart fruity blackcurrants, a bit tamed down, light bready, a bit of vanilla and what seems like oak notes, then some earthy barnyard funk
Taste starts quite sour, bright acidity, very tart and funky, Tilquin funk, a little yeasty bready, into the tart fruity blackcurrants and tart berry, also a bit of that vanilla and oak like character but hard to really say it is, some herbal spices and a bit of bitterness, a bit more wild and less of the normal Tilquin funk
Mouth is med to a bit fuller bod, med to higher frothy carb, big acidity
Overall not bad, not quite as good as some of the others, not to say it's the blackcurrants but more the base lambic seems less honed in and a bit more wild funky

Cellared 2 years. Purple pulling tones in a reddish body with an off-white head. Smells of jammy sour black currants with sweet plum and darker than expected oak supporting. Taste has the black currant in a more tart way, hints of balsamic, but still decently jammy on the backend with plum and a whisper of barnyard funk. Feel is playfully tart, fuller than the others with residual sugars covering up acidity

Poured from 375mL corked & caged bottle into a tulip. This is the 2020|2021 version, best by 6/22/31.
Appearance: slightly pinkish-amber hue with a moderate haze and a finger of frothy tan foam atop. Looks good!
Smell: lightly sweet with a nice tartness. The blackcurrant is nicely fruity, although perhaps a bit subtle. Not bad at all.
Taste: tart up front with just a little bit of funk and a really nice currant flavor. I wouldn't say it's super complex, but I am enjoying the heck out of it.
Mouthfeel: medium-light body with a decent carbonation and creaminess.
Overall: a super refreshing and drinkable fruit sour. This is among my favorite entries of the series, along with the forest fruits version.

Bottle: Poured a dark golden color lambic with a small foamy head with limited retention and no lacing. Aroma of funky ester with some tart notes and some cassis notes with faint oak notes are also perceptible. Taste is also a mix of funky ester with some tart notes, oak notes and cassis notes with no noticeable acidity. Body is about average with limited carbonation. More complex than I was expecting with nice cassis flavors.
