375 ml corked and caged bottle, label says 2014 2015 on it, best before 03/02/2025. Served in a Prairie Artisan Ales lambic glass (tumbler style), the beer pours a slightly hazy amber color with almost an inch off-white head. Head retention is good, and there's not much lacing at all. The brew smells like plums, funk, earthiness, and vinegar. I could really smell the plum fruitiness as soon as I opened the bottle. Taste is similar to the aroma wtih plum, funk, vinegar, lemon, floralness, white grape and grainy flavors. Mouthfeel/body is light/medium, it's easy to drink with a low/moderate amount of carbonation. I thought this was a pretty good fruited lambic, this is definitely worth buying if you come across a bottle. $15.99 a bottle.

Gueuzerie Tilquin "Oude Quetsche Tilquin à L'Ancienne"
25.4 fl. oz. green glass bottle, corked and caged; "2020 2021" & "Best before: 23/12/2030"
$9.97 @ Wine, Beer, and Spirits, Omaha, NE

Notes via stream of consciousness: It's poured a clear amber colored body; no head was formed. The aroma is fruity with Brettanomyces (leather, wet straw). The taste is fuller with more fruit, namely plum as listed on the label, but also some apricot, and the Brett adds some mild "horse blanket" and mineral character. It's lightly sweet and softly tart making it very easy to drink. It finishes dry with some lingering fruit that eventually fades to leave only mineral character behind.

Served in a wine glass

This beer pours amber and hazy. It lacks any discernible head.

Sweet and fruity with plenty of plum aroma. Decent sour smell.

Sweet with plum upfront. Puckeringly sour on the back end. Lingering sourness

Thinner bodied with a dry mouthfeel

Not bad for a beer over a year past its "best by" date.

Fades musky red to straw with a plesent fog. No head or carb at all

Mandarin orange and cinnamon with a dry tarness.

So clean! It doesn't atrack the pallate. Still and calm up front. An dry/tart seaks in with a citruis fruit I've never eaten, finishing bitter and hurts my mouth a little.

Dlat and glassy with just a touch of carb. Works well with the flavor

Deceptively mild and very pleseant to drink!

Appearance: A dark golden-hued body capped with a tall, whitish head.

Smell: Salty, sweaty plums with stray perfumy florals, soured citrus fruits and hints of dry cheese rind.

Taste: Funky, sourish plums lending a grape candy quality like grape-flavored Bazooka chews. Flash of wheat. Tart lactic with a barnyard beef hint. Has a lemony zing to it. Slight perceived salinity. Drying finish.

Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Moderate carbonation. Has a slight tongue-coating quality to it.

Overall: Not bad.

Body has the rosy hue of pink grapefruit juice, unfiltered, with fizzy carbonation that burns out before it can keep much of a head.
Aroma is tart white flesh fruit - green grapes, green apple - with a touch of funky must.
Flavour is funky, fruity, sour, a lovely blend and well balanced; grapefruit is coming to mind, influenced by the look; super dry finish and super fine carbonation supports a sophisticated feel; the lactic acid lingers, stimulating with its brightness.

Is it plum-based? It's not distinct in that way to me, but plum isn't a super distinct flavour, and really, it doesn't matter that's the case, because this is an excellent example of the style. Multi-layered, balanced, flavourful.

2018 / 2019 vintage

Pours a bright, translucent orange with plenty of fizzy, short-lived head. While it's a good looking beer, the appearance takes a back seat to the aroma, which is spectacular. A funky, earthy aroma bursts from the glass in waves, with what I can only assume is the plums adding a nice fruity component. Just a really good smelling beer.

Taste is very much in line with the aroma. The fruit works really well with the funk, and it's very well balanced with just the right amount of tartness. Very light bodied.

Overall, this exceeded my expectations. Excellent beer.

2019-2020 bottling

Appearance: Pours a slightly hazy Cantaloupe color with a few bubbles that quicly fade; no lacing

Smell: Sweet and tart plum aromatics with oak, funk and a hint of lemon zest

Taste: Sweet and tat plum flavors forward with the tart lemon zest aspect building; oak and funk develop into the finish

Mouthfeel: Light to medium bodied with no carbonation

Overall: Sorry that the carbonation has faded but this otherwise was terrific

Poured with slight head that quickly dissipated. Cloudy deep orange/red hue. Nice, clean traditional nose with some fruitiness. Well-balanced, quenching, a bit leaning towards sweet side

Imperial Pint 2020-2021
Look: Slightly opaque rust-orange, pouring a thin cap head which disappeared into light lacing
Smell: trad sour smell, with med-light yeast funk, and stone fruit, hint of oak
Taste: Very tart, med-light yeast funk, fresh stone fruit sweetness, light oak tannins
Feel: gentle carbonation, light-moderate body, semi-crisp finish
Overall: Its alright, super tart though. The plums have a light influence on overall taste, but its noticeable
