On-tap at the Euston Tap. According to the brewery website, this is basically a European version of an IPL, and uses a blend of the best American and Antipodean hops: Pacific Gem, Galena, Mosaic, Citra, Columbus, Cascade, and Galaxy. Thanks to my new Inbev-employed friend for this - sorry I've forgotten your name!
A: Slightly hazy amber body with a finger of extra fine white head. Nice sticky lace.
S: Lovely blend of clean lager yeast and herbal, fruity hops. Really fresh and spicy.
T: Follows the nose precisely: it's a clean, fresh, complexly hoppy lager, with fruity, spicy, and herbal notes all intermingled. Well done.
M: Frothy, bubbly medium body. A bit too lively, but good all the same.
O: This was a lovely beer, and a particularly lovely contrast to all the malt-forward cask ales I'd had earlier in the day. I really hope more craft breweries jump on the IPL bandwagon this summer.
Cheers!
