Originally brewed in Köln (Cologne), Germany, Wild Rose Kolsch is bright straw yellow in colour with a delicate and refreshing flavour. Brewed using a blend of the best Alberta malted barley, it is balanced with the addition of Tettnang, Vanguard and German Select hops. The result is a golden ale that has a gentle fruitiness and a prominent, but not extreme hoppiness.

A pint at the Ship and Anchor.
This beer appears a clear medium copper hue, with one finger of creamy ecru head, which leaves a low slouching ring of lace around the glass in its wake. It smells of sweet, crisp biscuit malt, and floral, earthy hops. The taste is sweet bready malt, with a lessening biscuit nature, and more consistent earthy, floral hops. The carbonation is on the lower side of average, the body a solid medium weight, and agreeably smooth. It finishes with a welcome uptick in the biscuit malt sweetness.
A refreshing, clean summer ale, decently packed with flavour. Good for darkened bar stools, and sunny downtown street patios alike.

I have tried the Kolsch a couple times this summer so far, but finally getting around to adding/reviewing.
From the Wild Rose website:

Draft, Served in a tall, thin glass.
Bright and clear, golden yellow color, with a short yet solid head. Fresh grain and grass smell, crisp and clean taste. Very nice melding of malt and light hoppiness. Light, refreshing, dry finish. Great on a hot summer day. Lots of carbonation bubbles keep it from being too heavy, but not so much fizz that you feel bloated after one (or two or three).
I have never been to Germany to compare, but seems to me that it nails the style.
**Will be available on-tap only at select locations.
