Pucker up for this dog day zinger! This light tasting ale is tangy and tart thanks to a technique called kettle souring. The result is a boldly refreshing brew, balanced to perfection with real key lime juice.

A- This pours a cloudy yellowish colour with lime juice green afterthoughts....it looks pulpy if that makes any sense. There is little to no head to be had, and as soon as the brew is poured, it goes what looks to be flat, however, there is some moderate to aggressive looking carbonation that produces big bristly bubbles. The lacing is nowhere to be found either, with only a watery film that is left behind around the inside of the glass. Overall, not a great looking beer.

S- Definite citrus aroma to be had, with a focus on the key lime juice used here, which provides a juicy tartness in the nostrils. There are other zesty citrus aromas found here including grapefruit, lemon, and tangelo. Yeasty creaminess, and a bit of a biscuit like dryness are also noted, with the finish being of various rind, key lime freshness and a muted leafy hop presence.

T- Flavors follow suit here, with the sourness of the key lime shining through on the palate, however, it is not so tart that I cannot handle it. It reminds me of a homemade pie.....crust and all. There is a certain creaminess about it too that is like whipped topping and a pie crust like biscuit flavour. The finish is sweet-tart, clean and just of slight leafy bitterness.....a well played combo that is Summertime flavor!

M/O- The mouthfeel/body is light and the carbonation is crisp in nature, providing a very easy drinking, enjoyable and flavourful sour fruit beer! I'm not one for sours per se, but I am slowly building into them, and there is enough sweetness/balance in this one to enjoy the tartness of the key lime/citrus. I would in fact have this one again, and perhaps I will get to enjoy it sometime on tap when in Calgary! The look could use some work but the rest of it is excellent!
