When you call something "old school", it's usually because it's original or a classic. That is exactly why we've named this beer Old School Stout, because it's our interpretation of a classic dry stout.
The word stout originally meant "proud" or "brave" but after the 14th century it took on the connotation of "strong". While our Old School Stout isn't exactly strong in alcohol (5.5% ABV), it is very much a rich full bodied Ale dominated by chocolate and roasted malt flavours and very well balanced. Dry stouts achieve a dry-roasted character through the use of roasted barley, just one of the six malts in our Old School Stout recipe. A subtle bitterness leads to a long creamy finish on this aphotic beauty.

Poured into an English pint glass, the appearance was a nice looking somewhat dark brown almost black color with an eggshell white foamy head softly dissolving to leave some messy adequate lacing.
The aroma had some char/ash to roasty coffee to dark toast and some milk and dark chocolate. Light amounts of dark fruits grace the underneath.
The flavor leaned towards the sweet side and bled a light chalky dry cocoa powdery aftertaste the more I sipped.
The mouthfeel was about medium bodied, perhaps a touch under with a fair sessionability about it. Good carbonation with some dryness and an invasive sweetness readying itself into the finish.
Overall, I'd say a pretty nice English stout well worthy of having again if I could get it.

Nice drinking stout. Rusty black with a short head, but gorgeous lacing. Handsome.
Chalky, chocolately nose. Coffee and ash, too. Quite enticing. A lot of that carries on through to the taste, but it does take a turn to being sweeter and more chocolate in character. Slightly bigger, ashy finish after a hit of sweet.
Lots of things to explore in this one. Worth a try.
