Bronze with a white head, ring of retention leaves some lace.

Pine needle, grass and grapefruit rind aroma.

Pine, pith, nectarine, restrained bitterness, light biscuit.

Moderate body has a light hop acidity with an off-dry finish.

650ml bottle - wow, the fresh/wet hopped brews sure have taken off this current season! And 'frick'n' is part of my more preferred PG-13 invective.

This beer pours a clear, medium copper amber colour, with three chubby fingers of puffy, rocky, and somewhat creamy ecru head, which leaves a bit of decaying natural land bridge lace around the glass as it steadily recedes.

It smells of sort of zingy orange, white grapefruit, and lemon citrus rind, gritty and grainy pale malt, a lesser crackery caramel sweetness, some minor hard water flinty notes, and a good schwack of herbal, spicy, and dank green hop bitters. The taste is semi-sweet, bready and pastry-esque caramel malt, kind of sugary-seeming generic citrus peel, maybe a touch of wayward son yeastiness, and more playful leafy, grassy, and herbal hoppiness.

The carbonation is just strong enough, in terms of its basically structurally supportive frothiness, the body a solid middleweight, and generally smooth, the fresh hops doing well to keep their grimy hands out of this part of the game. It finishes well off-dry, the mixed fruitiness and the lingering caramel malt keeping the waning hoppy esters duly at bay.

Overall, this is a mostly pleasant, and easy to drink fresh-hopped pale ale, with the greenness evident from the get-go. Nothing complicated, but yeah, I will enjoy sipping on the rest of this one, while enjoying the balmy November temperatures messing with my sense of time and place right now.
