Poured a 341-ml bottle into a pint glass.
Appearance - copper-amber colour with a fast-disappearing head that leaves a few surface bubbles and an uneven ring of lace.
Smell - mostly malt aromas detected, fairly clean smell.
Taste - good roasted malt flavour with the expected coffee, toffee elements. There's some good hop bitterness in the flavour but not anywhere near the profile of the IPA version.
Mouthfeel - pretty well-balanced and even in terms of flavour.
Drinkability - goes down fairly easy although with the name I'd rather get the original IPA product.

A nice offering from Tree. Appears dark amber with lots of carbonation but a minimal head.
The smell is fairly muted but has hop oils, caramel, toasted malt and a hint of peach.
The taste is very nicely balanced between malt and hops. Woody, cloves, spice, nuttiness and smooth hops with a peachy/citrus note. I was expecting more hops from a beer labelled "Hop Head", but you can try their regular IPA or even the huge DIPA for that if you want!
Mouthfeel is medium bodied, not oily, and pleasantly effervescent. It has a tartness to it and dryness in the finish.
It's very crisp, refreshing and super easy to drink.

45 IBU and aged 45 days.
A: Amber with an off-white/light-tan head, some retention & lace.

T: Plenty of leafy, fresh hop flavour, but the bitterness is fairly restrained (45 IBU), with a nice malt balance. Nectarine, grapefruit, toffee & nut.
M: Smooth, moderate body.
D: A good drinker... I could definitely session it.

Anything with 'Hop Head' in the name is all right by me...
This beer pours a clear medium amber colour, with two fingers of creamy ecru head, which leaves a decent paint job of lacing around the glass as it recedes. It smells of biscuit and sweet caramel malt, and woody hops. The taste is bready, biscuity, and caramel malt, a mild metallic edge, and a bit of pine hops. The carbonation is moderate, the body medium weight, and bit prickly, and it finishes off-dry, the biscuit character predominating.
I'm a little stumped as to why Tree chose to carry the Hop Head name forward with this offering. Yes, there's hops in it, and yes, it's a decent amber ale, but hops are not the selling point of this beer.

It smells of biscuit and sweet caramel malt, and woody hops. The taste is bready, biscuity, and caramel malt, a mild metallic edge, and a bit of pine hops. The carbonation is moderate, the body medium weight, and bit prickly, and it finishes off-dry, the biscuit character predominating.

Bottle poured into my trusty Guiness pint glass. Glad to finally see this in a 6-pack, as have been forced in the past to buy it in their winter mixer pack (not that it was a bad thing, I just always wanted more!).
A - A slightly darker caramel than their Hop Head, with a nice red hue. Thumb of head which mellowed to small islands with a solid lace that trailed throughout.
S - A mild hop scent, almost 'tinny' in nature, with a woody malt scent that follows.
T - I found the alcohol much more noticeable than their Hop Head IPA, but by no means overpowering. Not quite the hop bomb that I may have expected, but a nince balance of hops and malts.
M - Good carbonation. Did not overwhelm the palette, and was smooth on the finish.
D - As previously mentioned, I'm glad they've released this in a 6-pack. Perfect for the times where I'm craving hops, but want to have more than one or two. Easily sessionable and very drinkable.

S - grassy malt, barn/hay, funky/pungent hops
T - sweet malt, sappy hops and a tannic finish with hints of caramelized sugars
M - medium carbonation, medium body, fluid with a semi-dry finish
D - the smell is hop heavy (over-ripe/sappy hops) and has a funk to it. The taste is captures some of the smell while remaining uncloying in mouthfeel and intensity.

A crystal clear reddish amber with lots of carbonation. a gentle pour results in a lovely light tan head that very slowly falls to a 1/4 inch film that leaves rings of lace well down the glass
S I expected more hops then this but still not bad with toffee and malt
T not far of the smell but with hop head written on the label I expected a bit more, not by any means a bad beer just not the hop bomb I expected, as it warmed I picked up on a mild nutty flavor
M a little bite to it and it's far from thin, I would give it 4.25 if I could
D my glass was empty pretty quick so that says something
I'm not so sure this should be a "Hop Head" but it will sell just because of that. worth trying with out doubt and in the mixer you can try others Tree has to offer but if a 6 pack of this was beside a 6 pack of regular Hop Head I would get normal Hop Head with out any hesitation.
