Clear orange-amber color. Poured a short head that dropped back to a patchy skiff in half a minute. Medium flow of tiny bubbles from the bottom of the glass. Left no lacing.
Smells of lightly roasted malt with a little yeast funk blended in. Very slightly sweet. A light barnyard started to build up as it sat still in the glass. Swirling the glass kicked up a stronger barnyard and some caramel.
Light caramel malt flavor. Light bitters show up after a bit. Slightly sweet. A light yeast funk shows up as it warms a bit. As it warmed up further the funky flavors reminded me a bit of a mild white cheese. Overall it tastes like fresh water with the malt and the bitters poking through. The aftertaste started with a light caramel malt which gave way to stronger bitters.
Very light tongue tingles as it grew to a large bubbled foam. Oily feel. Heavy body.
I don't know how to describe the water as a taste component. It doesn't taste watered down, but there is a water "flavor" base that the other more beer-like flavors float in. Generally a typical showing for the style; nothing stands out.
