Clear red-copper color. Poured a medium-short head that collapsed down to a patchy skiff in less than a minute. Low flow of small bubbles rising from the bottom of the glass. Left small strings and dots of lacing.
Light sweet caramel and malt smell with a light barnyard. A hint of vanilla and sometimes a bit of cinnamon. Swirling the glass kicked up more barnyard which quickly dropped back to the original mix of scents.
Somewhat sweet with a lot of vanilla. A raw rolled oats flavor showed up next. Mild bitters. The aftertaste had a quick sweet burst like a coke or similar soda. The raw rolled oats dominated after a few seconds to be rejoined by the light bitter.
Light tongue tingling. A bit oily or even gummy while it was foaming up. Medium body.
Pretty basic, but I think the vanilla was a bit too strong. Vanilla is not my favorite flavor, so I know that others would appreciate this a lot more than I do just the way it is. This doesn't really seem like a Winter Warmer, but I don't know how else to classify it. Please update with a more appropriate choice of style.
