Huge props to my brother for hooking me up with this treat.
A - Pours a nice ruby red, finger of head with decent retention and some sporadic lacing.
S - Boozy oak, toffee and caramel, hints of cocoa and whiskey.
T - The whiskey flavours dominate, with some boozy heat and sweetness. The wooden oak is fantastic and a sweet bourbon flavour lingers alongside some caramel and toffee. The cocoa nibs come through on the finish with the oak and vanilla.
M - Medium bodied, smooth and a touch of ABV heat on the finish.
O - Incredibly tasty ale, loads of flavour and the whiskey profile is spectacular. I'm really diggin' this one and am stoked I had the opportunity to try it.

Big thank you to Derek for this rarity!!
Appearance. Pours a deep, dark red-brown with almost 3 fingers of thick creamy-tan head that leaves some great lacing.
Smell. Whiskey, oh ya, whiskey is there. Some chocolate and vanilla with a little roasted malt.
Taste. Chocolate and roasted malts, some whiskey for sure, but not overpowering. Vanilla and bitter wood in the finish.
Mouthfeel. On the lower side of full-bodied with medium-low carbonation.
Overall. Nice barrel aged beer from BC! Nothing to complain about from this guy.

I believe this is basically the Hophead Black IPA aged in a whiskey barrel. I was skeptical about how the flavours would meld, but it's really good!
A: Black with deep ruby highlights, light tan head as a bit of retention and leaves a lovely lace.
S: Aroma has some woodsy spicing, toffee, roasted nut, cotton candy, nectarine and a bit of piny resin.
T: The Tennessee whiskey flavour is a bit boozy, but in a very enticing way. Dark sponge toffee, roasted nut, licorice, pine, nectarine, apricot, light coffee, solid bitterness, light alcohol warmth. This dark ale is very American.
M: Well attenuated, moderate body has a fair bit of acidity.
D/O: The barrel aging was nicely done and the beer still seems very fresh (not at all stale or oxidized)... maybe I shouldn't be surprised as there's a good dose of hops here.
