Props to my bro for yet another hook-up of Tree's one-off brew...

A - Pours a nice ruby red, finger of head, little retention and no real lacing.

S - Candied fruit, mocha, fresh raspberries and hints of oak and whiskey.

T - The raspberries come through alongside hints of cocoa, espresso and the oak and whiskey lingers nicely on the finish.

M - A tad thin, but goes down smooth and finishes wet.

O - A tasty treat and the barrel aging added a nice element to a decent base brew. I would've loved a barrel aged imperial stout, but this will suffice as a transition. Glad to have had the opportunity to try it, but I feel like barrel aging should be reserved for more intense and higher ABV brews.

Tree Brewing 'Serendipity No 7' @ 6.0% , served from a 650 ml bottle purchased for $8

A-pour is a dark cola brown from the bottle to glass with some ruby red peaking thru the glass edge with a good size tan/off white head leaving a spotty lace along the pint glass

S-you sure can smell the whiskey barrel

T-beer with a big whiskey flavouring , sweet , somewhat smooth , big

MF-mild medium carbonation , big full body

Ov-ok/good beer , glad I tried it , needs some more time in a cellar to mellow

Raspberry Porter aged in a Whiskey barrel.

A: Black, pours with a nice tan head, some retention & lace.

S: Field berry candy aroma is enticing.

T: The raspberry is obvious, but not overbearing. There's a bit of wood & whiskey to round out the flavour. The underlying roasted malt is surprisingly subtle, given the dark colour. Good stuff.

M: Well-attenuated, moderate body is smooth with an off-dry finish.

O: I like their straight-up porter, but I've never really been fond of the raspberry porter. Somehow the raspy wood & whiskey takes it to another level.
