#1777 - Blind-tasted except for the beer's name and brewery/country...
L- Well rested and chilled but the head formed super-fast and big! Not a criticism of course, I just suggest you take the pour slooowly. Pours very dark chestnut with vast pillowy pale tan head of fine bubbles. The head holds well and forms pillars and thick clumps down the side of the glass - impressive looking.
S- Notably fruity sour and dry. Hope it's not blunter than I'll enjoy...
T- 1st sip of beer today. ...[I literally involuntarily shudder]... gawd it follows the smell^ just without fruit. It is heavily sour, dry, bitter. My palate does settle somewhat by sip-2, 3... but it's still prominently sour/dry.
F/O- I believe there is a whole 'thing', sub-culture, fan-base for beers such as this. Belgian Gueuze and lambics seem in the same vicinity. It is pretty brutally sour and plenty of people trying it [and the style] for the first time just won't like it. I do finish it but I've no need to buy this one, or style, again.
