From a 330 ml bottle, this beer is a hazy straw color with a tall, soapy, white head. The aroma has an earthy, woody, boozy scent. The taste is dryer than expected, with more wood flavor and warmth. Spice and typical Belgian phenols in the taste. Medium-full in body. Interesting.

Poured into a Stone Gargoyle flute. Rapid bubble formation on opening, but not a gusher. Pours a hazy medium golden amber with very active carbonation in the glass and a two finger white head with great retention and nice lacing. Aroma of Belgian pale malt, Belgian fruit yeast, lemon, hints of light stone fruit and rum. Flavor is Belgian pale malt and fruit yeast, vague light stone fruit, orange, rum, clove and possibly coriander. The latter become more dominant in the finish; lightly astringent. Medium bodied with light to moderate creaminess and sharp carbonation. An interesting take on a triple, tasting more like a spiced Belgian pale ale to me. The rum is light, but a very nice adjunct to the typical Belgian fruit yeast. The spicing is odd; somewhat light at first, but building into the finish where it leaves an aspirin-like astringency. The latter is not a deal breaker, I like the overall taste just fine. Looks fabulous in the glass. Been a while since I've seen anything from De Leite. Found in Southern California.
