Look: It pours brown with a light brown head. It has excellent head retention.

Smell: It has strongly malty aromas with toffee and caramel up front. There are whiskey elements in the background with some cherry and prune notes.

Taste: There are cherry and prune flavors up front with the caramel and toffee in support. There are some background whiskey elements.

Feel: It has a medium full body with an aftertaste on the sweet side. It also has some alcohol warming.

Overall: There are plenty of complex flavors with this beer.

a neat whiskey infused belgian amber type from a brewery i like but have had just a few from so far, nabbed it when i saw it on account of ive been obsessed with belgian stuff recently, and its in season, whiskey also less common in the belgian beers, so was curious about this. its malty and deep amber reddish colored beer with plenty of big bubbles and a high tan head holding on nicely, lightly cloudy towards the bottom, medium overall density. this smells like cozy kilned malt, rich and a little sweet, with very subtle whiskey to it, but less than expected, like i dont really get wood, not sure if this was barrel aged or how it was infused, but its way back and it doesnt make this huge or anything, some nuttiness, almond, raisin, licorice root, black tea, dried cherry, heather, clove, and almost soapy estery yeast thats quite cool in here, complex for sure, and even more so as it warms, not really alcoholic to me, not crazy sugary despite its obvious richness, fully unique, even not really quite neatly in a specific style to me, regardless of what they were targeting with the base beer. this might be spiced, definitely musky and earthy, could all be the yeast and the whiskey coming through, which actually tastes a little more like hard alcohol than it feels like booze, if that makes sense, subtle vanilla and brown sugar there, more dried fruitiness too, dates and raisins, but not sweet at the expense of the grain flavor itself, wonderful malt character here, light leather and tobacco and even cocoa powder, black tea, and toasted coriander, white pepper and toffee at the end, lovely on the fermentation side, and fantastic bottle conditioning with lots of big bubbles lightening the whole thing. i definitely think this is unique and weird in a good way, nice with good whiskey on the side, uncommon among belgian beers i reckon, cool fermentation, funky in an almost medicinal sense, impressed with what ive had from de leite thus far and glad i picked this up...
