Wasn't too sure which style to give this wheat beer, fits here best.
Brown 50cl bottle, best before the end of 6-11, so a bit old when poured into a Franziskaner Weissbier glass on 12th July 2011.
Managed to keep the sediment of this bottle conditioned beer in the bottle: so the body was very pale, clear and clean. The colour a dull gold, on top a white cap of foaming bubbles, loads of bubbles rising upwards from the beer base made it suit the glass I'd choosen for it. The head staying for the whole review and leaving some heavy lacing as it sank down the glass with the beer.
Aroma of Belgian yeasts and wheat grains with a peppery, floral hop smell getting stronger as the beer warmed in the glass.
Pleasant blend of ingrediants, light on the malt side yet semi-sweet and with no hop bitterness at all, even as the mouth dries.
Body is fine for whatever style it really is, it just feels right for the alcohol content and overall vibes the beer gives. I have a feeling the beer if tasted younger, wouldn't have performed so well, it has matured a little while sat in the bottle.
