On-cask at the Euston tap into a half-pint.
A: Slightly hazy pale amber body under a thin, sticky ecru head. Great retention and lacing. Lovely.
S: Intensely hoppy, with huge floral power, as well as some cannabis. Nothing but hops, and they're great.
T: Floral + herbal hops up front, with some pine + orange fruitiness leading in to toffee malt and a hugely bitter finish. Terrific.
M: Medium body, moderate carbonation. Nice.
O: Terrific ale. It just so happens that I reviewed this beer in my notebook at the bar in May, submitted the brewery to the BeerAdvocate database as soon as I got back from my European trip in early June, and just now got the go-ahead to review the beer on the 4th of July: Go America!
This is a wonderful beer, and one that everyone who can sample it should sample it. The biggest selling point of this beer, though, is its outrageous hoppiness - a factor that it owes almost entirely to the American (A/I)PA movement of the moment. Anyone who genuinely enjoys hops will enjoy this beer, but it will certainly help if you have a taste for big American hop-bombs.
Great stuff.
Cheers!

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
