Bottle
"Delicious amber bitter with a distinctive flavour from the combination of malts and American Cascade hops."
L2.5 Yellow gold, with very poor head retention. Initially ok, but quickly goes leaving ring of inconsistent bubbles around the sidewalls.
S3 Slightly malty, but a bit musky.
T3.5 Similar to nose, no off flavours. Not a huge amount going on.
F3.5 Fine. A little thin, good carbonation.
O3 Probably the worst of the Cumbrian Ales I have tried. As per others it has very poor head retention, could be much improved. Not sure the cascade hops add anything here, think a more traditional hop works better in this style.

Cask. Pours a light copper color. Oh yes, this smells like a yummy little Bitter. I am a Bitter fan. This one has the correct mix of malt and hop and distinct yeast. I have come to learn that these guys used U.S. Hops here. I am not learned enough to decipher the difference. The flavor is light. Despite the U.S. hops, I still taste a floral, tea-like hop and an English yeast. Light bodied. I would re-drink. Big fan of Bitters; especially on cask. Makes me feel like an ol' English pub bastard.
